Game animation: gameplay and cinematics

On Sackboy: A Big Adventure I animated the final boss and several NPCs as a Gameplay Animator, and for Plarium I built and led the team that produced the marketing cinematics for Raid: Shadow Legends and Mech Arena. Animation that has to feel right in the player’s hands, and cinematics that have to sell the game.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

What I do

Gameplay animation

Cycles, attacks, reactions and transitions that respond well to the controller and read at first glance.

Bosses and NPCs

Characters with their own personality, with animation that tells the player how they behave.

Cinematics and trailers

From previs to final render, for in-game cinematics or marketing videos.

A small team under my lead

When the piece needs it, I build and run a freelance team and answer for the whole delivery, as with Plarium’s cinematics.

Animation in Unreal Engine

Animation that reaches the engine working, with Control Rig, Sequencer and Blueprints.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work in Unreal Engine or other engines?

Unreal Engine is my engine and I work in it every day. I can also deliver animation from Maya or Blender for whatever engine you use.

Can you handle a full cinematic?

Yes. For Plarium I built and led a freelance team that handled everything: 3D character upgrades, previs, animation and the final composited render.

Do you work with indie studios?

Yes, with big and small studios. What matters is that the project is a fit and the scope is clear.

Does your game need animation or a cinematic?

Tell me which characters, what kind of piece and by when, and I’ll propose how to do it.
